A Service for Disability Awareness Sunday based on 1 Corinthians 12: 12-27

A complete service for Disability Awareness Sunday, shaped around 1 Corinthians 12:12–27 and Paul’s image of the Church as one body with many members.

The service explores disability, belonging, accessibility and interdependence, with prayers, hymn suggestions, an interactive puzzle-piece intercession and space for a separate reflection or sermon. It is designed to be adapted for local use and to encourage congregations to think about what it means for every member of the body to belong.

A short video reflection on disability, accessibility and belonging in the Church. Written as a contemporary letter to the Church in the United Kingdom, it asks who may be missing from our congregations, what barriers our worship can create, and what it might mean to take seriously Paul’s image of the Church as the body of Christ in 1 Corinthians 12. A resource for Disability Awareness Sunday and for wider conversations about disability, neurodivergence, worship and belonging.

This video is now quite different from the edited version of the reflection in the resource pack. I am going to try and record a new version when I get some time to do so.
